Today I’m sharing my travel review post from our stay at 200 Main in Highlands, North Carolina. We had the best trip & I’ll be sharing a full Highlands Travel Guide next!

Thank you to 200 Main for hosting us. Our stay was complimentary in exchange for the social media and blog coverage I provided for the resort. However, all opinions are 100% my own.

WHERE TO STAY IN HIGHLANDS, NC

If you’re heading to Highlands, North Carolina, you should stay at 200 Main. 200 Main is owned by Old Edwards Hospitality Group, which is well-known in the area for their award-winning accommodations + spa. 200 Main offers a taste of luxury without the luxury price tag. If you want to get the most bang for your buck in Highlands, North Carolina, I would highly recommend staying at 200 Main.

THE LOCATION

200 Main is located right when you come into town at one end of Main Street. Main Street is where the majority of the shops/restaurants are. The location was PERFECT! You can leave your room and walk the entire length of Main Street, then loop back to 200 Main.

OUR ROOM

We stayed in the King Porch Fireplace Room and it was so spacious and absolutely gorgeous. 200 Main is technically a motel, but 2 of the buildings have been updated to include a keycard-entry foyer. Our room did not have a door that opened directly to the outside. We used our keycard to enter the building, and then again to open the door to our room. I really liked that, especially with McKenna.

We loved the gas fireplace, the private porch with rocking chairs, and the extra seating area. We also liked having an in-room Nespresso machine and mini-fridge. The Frette bed linens were so luxurious. I slept great both of nights we were there. We also LOVED the heated marble bathroom floors and that shower was amazing!

If you want to ensure that your room is in one of the newly renovated buildings, I would call to make your reservation at 200 Main. All of the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Multiple staff members offered to take photos of us, and one even took the time to look up the best route for us when traveling back home.

They also had a little surprise waiting for us: a bottle of Old Edwards Chardonnay and a North Carolina book for McKenna. It’s the little things that mean so much, and giving McKenna a book to remember her first trip to North Carolina truly shows the heart of the staff at 200 Main.

THE PROPERTY

200 Main is a smaller property, and that’s one of the things we loved about it. Once we parked by our building, we could easily walk to the Fitness Room, fire pit, pool, Game Room, and front office. It was perfect with McKenna because we were able to just carry her instead of getting out the stroller every time we wanted to walk to the fire pit or Game Room.

I really enjoyed sipping a glass of wine around the fire pit in the evenings, and McKenna loved playing the Game Room. The Game Room has a Foosball Table, Ping Pong Table, Shuffleboard Table, two Arcade Games, TVs, and it is fully stocked with board and card games.

The Game Room at 200 Main is made up of two large rooms + a kitchen area with vending machines. There is plenty of room for guests to spread out and enjoy the shared space. It was a great place to unwind in the evenings and to let McKenna play before heading up to our room.

200 Main also has a seasonally heated outdoor Mineral Pool. McKenna is still not a big fan of the pool, but I look forward to taking her back when she is older and going for a dip. 200 Main has towels waiting by the pool, so all you need to bring is your swimsuit!

The Fitness Room at 200 Main was also very nice. They had treadmills, ellipticals, a weight rack, yoga mats, and more.

DINING OPTIONS

While there are no restaurants on the property, one of the perks of staying at 200 Main is breakfast at Madison’s. Madison’s is located on Main Street, and only a short walk or drive from 200 Main. During breakfast, Madison’s is only open to guests of Old Edwards Inn and 200 Main. Madison’s is a beautiful atmosphere, and the food was delicious. We recommend the pancakes! Madison’s is open to the public for lunch and dinner.
